Immediate Response by Grameen Bank
Grameen Bank activated its emergency procedure as soon as the early warning of the cyclone was announced by the Bangladesh Weather Bureau. Grameen Bank Head Office immediately set in motion the control room for monitoring and warning procedure Possible zones and areas were alerted over mobile phones. Necessary instructions were reiterated.

Cyclone Sidr leaves a Valley of Death
Tropical Cyclone Sidr, packing winds of about 149 mph (240 kilometers per hour), the furious cyclone swept across the Bay of Bengal, in southern Bangladesh late Thursday (15th Nov) downed trees, sent mobile telephone towers crashing, caused thousands to abandon theihomes and swept away mud and thatch houses.
